The Startup Lab & Hack Vivatech
Cisco's Lab at Vivatech was a unique stage for ideation sessions, challenges and hackathons. It included a makerspace and a pitch zone, mixing startups, developers and innovation managers.
STARTUPS & CHALLENGES
Cisco selected 32 international startups for our Lab to work on 4 challenges:
Startups used Cisco solutions to work on the challenges: Cisco Spark to imagine simple and efficient collaboration, Connected Mobility eXperience (CMX) for retail, Cisco Asset Manager (CAM) data management and IOx for artificial intelligence.
Scanalytics, an American startup, won the Smart Building challenge for its proprietary intelligent "SoleSensors" floor mats with embedded sensors that monitor human behavior through foot-traffic and predictive analytics.
Pzartech, a startup from Israel won the supply chain challenge with its solution that contributes to reducing downtime through mechanical spare parts recognition.
Mushin received a special award for building a visual collaboration tool for product managers integrated with Cisco Spark to enrich the chat and video capabilities of their solution.
MishiPay - an English startup incubated in the Cisco IDEALondon UK - won the Retail challenge thanks to its contactless payment solution integrated with our video surveillance & CMX solutions for providing safety & matching recommendation to retail stores.
SWITCHUP CHALLENGE
The SwitchUp Challenge pushes undergraduate students and young startupers to find innovative and sustainable solutions to solve society and environment challenges. Cisco followed 8 selected projects during 4 months with mentoring, training and equipments.
Ülive, in the Student project category: a startup that simplifies healthcare patients and stakeholders' lives by digitizing the healthcare journey using blockchain.
L'Increvable, in the Startup category: the sustainable washing machine that fixes itself and evolve thanks to an open-source programmer, a configurator for customizing the product, a platform for maintenance and self-repair.
HACK VIVATECH

Using DevNet, 5 teams came up with advanced apps based on Cisco CMX and Spark to reinvent the Vivatech experience by using its infrastructure.
